The fabric I’m using is canvas
When creating my own images I like to use some sort of Fabric Paint. For this tutorial I’ve used Caron D’Ache Neocolor 2, links below. I just do some rough coloring in not caring very much how it looks.
Now I will draw the image with a frixion pen.
At this point everything looks rough, but hold on this is exactly where the whole piece changes.
I prefer to use Glide thread for thread painting and I always like to use black. I also have a black bobbin thread in the bobbin.
In the needle I use 90 / 14 Micro tex needle.
I drop my feed dogs put my free motion quilting foot on and follow the lines. I like this type of thread painting to look like a sketch. I will go over it at least three times then move onto the other to thread paint.
The frixon pen markings are a guideline, you don’t have to follow them perfectly.
Press the frixon pen markings out with an iron and you have your very own art piece.
